Until recently Chinese households used these pots for fermenting, storing and even gifting pickles - a piece of waxed paper or cloth stretched across the top. My friend Able, remembers the "pop" of the seal being broken. I suppose that says "pickle time".
Decorative-wise, they're unbeatable. Even white sheets/white couch/white walls/can't-commit-to-color types agree on these; there's something in their turquoise that pleases them all.
Water-tight, spectacular with a branch of almost anything and even better in twos and threes. They vary in shading, as good things do. |
