As of fall 2012, CIRCA TRADE has wrapped-up its web sales and general on-line being.

As of late fall 2012, CIRCA TRADE, and I, are now Indigo & Ochre Design - an interior design studio located in brownstone Brooklyn NY.

The HISTORY of....CIRCA TRADE began in India in 1998 with pieces from my travels across South East Asia, Sri Lanka and to India's far corners: Lao fishing baskets, ikats from Cambodia, a rosewood campaign chair...

During the in-between years, lots changed (I moved back to New York, re-started the store in Hudson NY) but my collecting ethos (spirit?) hasn’t really. I’m a braver purchaser perhaps, and a mostly better-versed and wiser one, but I am still in search of beautiful forms, faces and spirits and pieces with an inherent integrity – whatever on earth that might mean.

There's little room in the densely-stocked retail and on-line spaces we move through, and the babble of judgments we heed, to exercise personal taste and go with gut. I would like Circa’s collection – offerings of my personal choices – to motivate you to observe with all senses.
